WHO WE ARE


Sun Center Studios is Pennsylvania’s premier film and television production facility located 10 minutes south of the Philadelphia International Airport just off I-95.  Sun Center Studios opened its doors in August of 2011 and in its short history has hosted two feature films (After Earth and Paranoia), commercials for PowerAde, Arby’s, the Pennsylvania Lottery, as well as photo shoots for Under Armour and USA Network’s Political Animals.


The mission of Sun Center Studios is to be both an innovative source and practical destination for world-class entertainment that serves as a regional center dedicated to the growth and promotion of the creative industries in Pennsylvania, which are behind the production of original film and television content.

PENNSYLVANIA FILM TAX CREDIT HIGHLIGHTS


  1. A transferable tax credit equal to 25%

  2. An additional 5% tax credit of qualified expenses may be earned by production companies filming a feature film, television film or television series, which is intended as programming for a national audience and films at a Qualified Production Facility which meets the Minimum Stage Filming Requirements

  3. Sun Center Studios is the first "Qualified Production Facility" in Pennsylvania

  4. A requirement that 60% of the production's total production expenses be incurred in Pennsylvania

  5. An annual cap of $60 million in tax credits

  6. In any fiscal year, the Department may award up to 30% of the tax credits available in the next succeeding fiscal year, 20% of credits available in the second successive fiscal year, and 10% of credits available in the third successive fiscal year
